Celebrating Festival in India

India is a land of festivals which comes with culture and tradition. The wide variety of festivals celebrated in India. Festivals of India involves Lord’s Birthdays(Ganesh Chaturthi, Krishna  Janmashtami, Hanuman Jayanti, etc), Tradtional Myths(Diwali, Holi, Navratri, etc), Seasonal Changes(Bihu, Pongal, Baisakhi, etc), Relationships(Rakhibandhan, Bhaiduj, Karwachaut, etc) and many more. There are many Indian Festivals and celebration, the most exciting of which are mentioned below.

 

Diwali :

 

Diwali is the Festival of Lights. During this Festival, Houses are decorated with Marigold Flowers and Ashok Leafs and also decorated with clay lamps and candles. Celebration of Diwali for five days and each of day are having its own meaning. Five days are completely fulfill  with sweets and many more dishes which are specially made on this particular occasion. On this occasion neighbors and relatives are invited to our home and welcoming them by making sweet dishes and gifts. During this Festival, each of Houses are having colourful Rangoli in front of main door. The things I have mentioned are common celebration which are followed by all Indians.

 

Holi :

 

Holi is the prominent Hindu festival in India and also defined as the festival of colours. This Festival Comes when full moon(pornima) of the falgun month of Hindu Calender, which corresponds to the month of March of the Gregorian calendar. Holi Ka Dehen is traditional celebration which celebrate one day before Holi Festival. Variety of dishes typically made in different states on this particular occasion. On this Festival of Joy Indians are celebrating Holi by applying dry and wet colours on others with some of carrying water gun and water filled balloon. This is most vibrant celebration can be seen in North Indian states.

 

Ganesh Chaturthi :

 

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the important religious festival in India. This Festival has been typically celebrate for 10 days with lots of emotions and enjoy. This Festival celebrate for Lord Ganesha’s Birthday by making their favorite things. Many of families are making attractive decoration and bringing statue of Lord Ganesha. The Ganesha’s favorite dish Modak which people are making looks very attractive. This is most vibrant festival can be seen in Maharashtra state.

 

Navaratri :

 

Navaratri is the Festival celebrate in all state throughout India in different ways. It is nine days dance celebration with traditional wear where people are dancing in a circle with particular form called Garba. This Festival celebrate almost all over the country, most vibrant in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

 

Krishna Janmashtami :

 

Krishna Janmashtami is also one of the important festival in India. On this occasion people are fasting throughout the day and break it after the day with special meal. This festival celebrate for Lord Krishna’s Birthday and can be seen in Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh, also in Maharashtra.
