Imagine the world without mobile networks. Have you ever wondered what are the networks are and how are they working through Mobile phone. We know that G is stand for Generation and we wanted to know more about Mobile networks, so let’s walk down in the history and know about what are 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G.

1G : Very first Generation of Mobile.

These are analog communication networks introduced in 1980. It first appeared in Japan in 1979.

It was able to transfer only your voice through the networks. In that generation everyone was feeling fulfill with 1G of Wireless Telephone Technology. It was simply designed for making voice call nothing else. The data rates are 2.4kbps to 14.4kbps.

2G : Something new than analog networks.

The main difference between 1G and 2G mobile networks are the radio networks used by 1G was analog where 2G networks are digital. It was introduced in 1991. 2G technologies enable to provide services like text message, image transfer, MMS(Multimedia Message Service) etc. The speed of data transferring was fast of 14.4kbps.

3G : New spectrum to players.

It was first appear in 2001 in Europe. We are all familiar with this network. It uses technology of IMT2000 and WCDMA. The new system is that 3G uses packet switching where 1G and 2G having circuit switching type system. The speed of data transmission 3.1Mbps is high speed. It support voice as well as data transmission with carrier frequency 5 MHz. The advantages of 3G networks are high security and International roaming.

4G : One more step to come.

4G is much more faster than 3G. It was appeared in 2009 in South Korea. It can provide speed up to 100Mbps. This network offers faster and more reliable broadband internet service for devices like smartphone, tablet, laptops, etc. It support internet service of ultra broadband. It can be used in current application like Mobile web, IP telephony, game services, high definition Mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television and cloud computing.

5G : Finally here we go.

A 5G network provide up to a million of connections for every .38 square miles, while of connection. 5G will offer a better support to the growing number of personal devices and IOT devices that use a network. It is wireless network technology deploying in 2018 and later. It offer performance as high as 20Gbps.
