Travelling between Mumbai, the financial capital of India and Pune, one of the biggest IT hubs of the country, would soon be reduced to only 25 minutes.
To travel between Mumbai and Pune one has to spend atleast 3 hours via road and cover the distance of around 150 km. But the virgin group by Sir Richard Branson will soon make it possible to cover the distance within 25 minutes.
The Hyperloop route would link Central Pune, Navi Mumbai International Airport, and Mumbai in 25 minutes and connect 2.6 crores people according to statement from Mr Branson. The Pune-Navi Mumbai-Mumbai Hyperloop will be able to support 15 crore passenger trip per year. Hyperloop transport system will allow for passengers to be transported super-fast speeds , more than 1000 km per hour, which is faster than one hour in a levitating pod that will travel in a vacuum tube.
If the project goes through as planned, India could be one of the first market globally for the super-fast transportation system ahead of North America, the Middle East and Europe.
